Spicy Tomato Salsa

This Spicy Tomato Salsa is bursting with tons of fresh flavors and couldn’t be any easier or quicker to make. Just put everything into a food processor and pulse to your desired consistency. Then sit down with an entire bag of tortilla chips and a bowl of this salsa and watch them both disappear. It’s amazing how quickly that can happen, right?

Ingredients

2 cups tomatoes, diced
½ cup onion, diced
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
1-2 jalapeño peppers, seeded, minced
3 tablespoons cilantro, minced
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon white vinegar
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
½ teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon sea salt
tortilla chips or Toasted Pita Chips for serving.

Directions

Combine all of the ingredients in a serving bowl, cover and refrigerate until chilled.

makes about 4 cups

Toasted Pita Chips

Ingredients

4 pita bread rounds, cut into triangles
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
½ teaspoon sea salt

Directions

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

Brush both sides of the triangles with olive oil. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle tops with salt. Bake for 5 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool completely; store in an airtight container.
